Beauty Of My World

He peeked his head
through the railings,
joyfully pointing
to the squirrel in the yard.

As the squirrel moved
he did too,
from one opening to the other
just to watch the squirrel.

Such blissful innocence
revealing an open heart
and an open mind,
that is filled with love.

A child sees so clearly
with purity of mind and soul.
If only we could get an ounce
of this wonderment back

our hearts would sing
our minds would ring
with honesty and joy.
Our health would reap the benefits.

Today I saw how lucky
I am to be living where I do.
My grandson showed me
the beauty of my world.

Moonbeams and Starlight Make Me Ponder

Moonbeams streaming across the shore
a sight never to ignore.
Starlight moments set me on fire
kindling my deepest desire.

Transparent waves of frosty foam,
once again calling me home.
Shimmering stars across the sky,
compelling me to ask why?

Why do the stars shine so bright,
on this tranquil moonlit night.
Is it the energy of the ocean,
to have this questioning notion.

so serene and full of beauty.
the ocean's continuity,
captured within the moonbeams ever glowing,
and the starlight ever knowing.

Upon distant shores I ponder,
like a lustful wander,
Is he thinking of the same,
or is he playing a game.

I want to know where you are,
and if you ever wish upon a star,
to find the answers that I ponder,  

Do 'YOU'  have a lustful wander?
